An infection of the prostate gland may not be picked up in a urinalysis.
It is possible that there still is persistent infection of the prostate gland.
A prostate massage test will obtain fluid from the prostate and this can be examined for infective organisms and a culture sensitivity can be done to identify the antibiotics they are sensitive to.
Even if the infection causing these symptoms was from chlamydis, it will be necessary to identify the antibiotic that the organism is most sensitive to, if you feel that you have been infected with a quinolone-resistant strain.
treatment of the cause of infection would help resolve these symptoms if they are attributable to the prostate.
You will have to avoid prostate irritants in the meantime. These include caffeine, alcohol, spicy foods, and citrus fruits.
Sitting in a hot bath for 10-15 minutes will also provide pain relief.
