Epideral Steroid Injections and Weight Gain

I had my first epideral steriod injection 10 days ago. I have little, to no pain since the injection. My concern is weight gain. I take a diuretic daily, and ride an exercycle 5 days a week, for 20 minutes. Should I expect to gain weight? If it matters, I'm 61 years old.

I think steroids effect people differently and it's my understanding that the point of having the injections is that the side effects are a lot less than taking oral steroids and the amount needed to treat by injection is a lot less than oral.  So while this doesn't answer your question, hopefully it will ease your mind a bit.

I had horrible side effects from the steroid caudal epidural injections - hot flashes and nausea, but i didn't really gain weight like I did from the many oral steroids that i'd taken a few months ago.
