Hashi patient who feels HyPER but test results say otherwise

by JBSRI, Jul 11, 2008 04:23PM
Dr. Lupo:

5/2007 Diagnosed Hashimoto's Disease--subclinical Hypothyroid. TSH 6.25 antibodies normal Free Ts.  Initially untreated but cramping and joint pain resulted in my being placed on 50mg Synthroid. That worked well until Nov when I again felt "off" tingling hands feet and lab draw showed TSH 10.20 and again normal range Free T 4 at 0.9. He doesn't track antibodies once diagnosed as Hashi patient. Synthroid increased to 75 mg.

Feel good until two weeks ago. Then WHAM!

Fast forward to past two weeks. I feel as though I'm HYPER  fast pulse several daily annoying heart palpatations, muscle and joint pain intead of tingling. I feel way off. But Hyper off. Frequent bathroom habits. However, blood draw results just in today say my TSH for first time in Normal range. 3.78. and Free Ts 1.2

Endo's being more difficult to talk w than Pope not available til December. Loves my labs and wants me to stay as is.

1. Is it possible that my 3.78 makes ME feel Hyper and thus the aches and palpatations?

2. Is it reasonable to Go to Synthroid every OTHER day at 75 mgs to get me feeling better? These heart skips are frequent and disturbing. I have tobelieve--despite the lab results--that I'm overmedicating myself with Synthroid.

3. Could aches be liver problems? Lupus? Something entirely different?

Thanks.

I can feel it what you are going through. I have been dealing with ups and down of my TSH which tend to take my rough hyper.hypo ride. The current TSH what you have is still high side you should project your TSH b/w 1.0-2.0 ..
