Folic Acid and DVT

by hethur240, Jul 11, 2008 10:53PM
I was diagnosed during my third pregnancy with a genetic mutation that effects the way my body metabolizes Folic Acid.  It seems that as a result of this mutation, while pregnant with my second child, I developed 2 DVT's in my left leg.  I was put on blood thinners and basically sent on my merry way with no diagnosis at the time.  I was also put on blood thinners during my third pregnancy to prevent any blood clots from forming at that time as well.  I am now taking Folic Acid and a baby asprin every day.  I cannot remember what the dr called this condition.  any ideas you could throw out at me and maybe i'll look them up and see if i can find it.  i know it had an "H" in it, if that helps, lol!!! thanks!
