MS and Thyroid problems

by georgejackson, Jul 12, 2008 02:33PM
Can i as if anyone knows if there is any possibility of damage to my thyroid from MS.  I ask because i have long standing MS symptoms including muscle aches in arms, hands and legs along with severe and permanent loss of sensation in my thighs. My question is really concerning the likelihood a thyroid disorder. I am finding it very, very slow
to shift my excess weight. I follow a strict diet and exercise program and over a six month period the weight is moving but very slowly. So i was wondering if my possible MS may have affected my thyroid or metabolic rate?

Any advice welcome

Many people with MS also have thyroid disorders. Hypo or Hyper, but I don't know if it is directly due to MS.  I would suggest that you jump over to the MS clinic and ask this same question there.  They might be able to help you more as they know a lot about MS.  Have you been diagnosed or are you a limbolander?  I am currently a limbolander with many MS symptoms, but no diagnosis.  I think you would be greatly benefited by popping into the MS forum
