Pregnancy occurs when an egg is fertilized by sperm. In order for sperm to get to the egg, it must be in your vagina. The usual form of delivery is via semen, which comes out of a penis; however, anything else can deliver sperm as well, for instance, a finger, or a dildo, etc. Some women have also gotten pregnant when their partner ejaculated near the vaginal opening (rare, but not impossible), and the sperm later entered the vagina. If you're concerned, you can get Plan B (morning-after contraceptive) at your local pharmacy, or wait until at least 10 days after exposure to sperm and take a home pregnancy test. Dr. J
