alternating Synthroid with Armour day by day

by Bux, Jul 12, 2008 10:17PM
Greetings and thanks in advance.
I have recently tried to improve Hashimotos effects buy changing fro 65 synthroid to 60 Armour.
After about one month, I notice a little thickness to hair and eyebrows but STILL NO weight loss and great muscle weakness. I am wondering if that is the Armour and have recently switched back to Synthroid but still feel the muscle weakness.
Can I alternate without negative health risks. I have other health issues and want to get the thyroid up to par to deal with them?

I do not think alternating these meds are a good idea.  You need to stick with what works best for you,

Synthroid is a T4 only med and has a longer time in the system . Armour is a natural all T med and has a quicker release than Synthroid

Muscle weakness is a classic sign of hypoT- so regardless - either meds you decide to take - IF you do not become optimized - you will suffer symptoms.
