very high TSH - effects

by raj274, Jul 13, 2008 02:07AM
I am 33 years old weighing only 55 kgs with a height of 6 feet which meds told as underweight and i am very thin.   I am normal and having normal appetite. Meds suggested a routine blood  test. Blood report showed normal T3 and T4 levels but TSH was 55.42 which is greater than 0.3-5.5 level. My body symptoms shows hypothyroidism but my blood report shows the opposite - hyperthyroidism.

What will be the problems?

Your blood report shows hypothyroidism (TSH  is high), being underweight is more a hyper symptom , but you need to start medication for hypothyroidism.
