Cat attacking tail

by mickey1223, Jul 13, 2008 09:37AM
My cat has started attacking his tail and chewing at his tail and body. It is almost like something is biting him. I have checked for flea and did not see anything. What else could cause this?

Is your cat actually removing fur or hurting himself? If not your cat could just be strange. Then again, most cats are, so how would anyone know? :)

If there is some damage happening, it could be a flea bite allergy (even just a few could get a bad reaction), it could be your cat got into some household product that's acting as a skin irritant, or it could be just plain stress/ nerves.

If it's still happening after a few days I'd try some flea drops... after that, especially if kitty doesn't seem stressed out, I'd get him checked out.
