Upper Right Quadrent Pain

by GrandmotherSpyder, Jul 13, 2008 09:52AM
I had my gallbladder removed 10 years ago. I have GERD which is under control as long as I remain on my medications which I do unless some stupid doctor tells me to go off of them so I can take some test he needs me to take. This really happened and i got really sick and wound up in the hospital with a serious erosion in my esophagus and the tissues there so fragile that they bled at the slightest touch and worse than that the whole problem could have been avoided by doing  biopsy to determine if I had an active H pylori infection. In the hospital they put me back on my meds, did a biopsy, and found that I did not have an active H Pylori Infection. Now I still have pain in the upper right quadrant and some doctor suggested Fatty Liver. I am overweight after having 8 kids I just gave up on fighting the left over baby fat. My only problem with the fatty liver diagnosis is that my weight has been very stable for over 10 years so why did this just start in February. In Feb I became very sick and they found a cyst on my ovary which was subsequently removed (the ovary, not the cyst; well actually both ovaries were removed because I have a HUGE family risk factor for ovarian cancer) they did not find any cause for the upper right quadrant pain at that time. After recovering from the ovary removal I went back to my doctors to find out why I still had this pain in the upper right quadrant. NOTHING! has been found and the things that have been done have made the situation worse by causing damage to my esophagus. HELP!!!! PLEASE!!!! Can anyone possibly give me any clue about what tests I should let these doctors do and which ones I should not?
