Doppler of Arm

I had a doppler of my right arm?  When procedure is done, do they look at both vein and artery or just one or the other?  I had this procedure done due to pain, minimal swelling in fingers and coolness is arm (to be fair my arms are always cool).  The results were negative, however, now I am wondering if they looked at both arteries and veins.  The sonographer started at my neck and proceded to my wrist.  Checking top side, under side and inside?  So, did they look at both or just the veins and should I ask my doctor to also do arteries?  Awaiting reply.  Thank you!
