I Can't Stop Head Picking

Is there any way, that does not involve medication, to stop picking my scalp? Its a really bad habit I have had on and off for years, and I can usually get rid of it for a little but it always comes back.

same with me. im 13 years old and i pick like the lower part of my scalp. everytime i close my hair in a pony i get so scared people will see it and get disgusted. i try to stop i really do but i just cant! ive tried cutting my nails. i put medication on it but when it gets a little better i just start picking again. whenever im bored at school i start realizing im picking again, i get angry at myself and i stop but then 2 seconds later i start again. its really hard for me.

what can i do?

I've had this problem on and off over the years (mainly scalp).  What I find helps me the most is to get (if you are a woman) those fake acrylic finger nails put on.  What I find is that the nails are so blunt and wide that you are not able to pick as easily.  Eventually the scabs heal and you hopefully have stopped picking.  I'm also so glad to see that I'm not alone!  Thank you!!!  Good Luck.

It might be related to stress.  You could try meditation or yoga to alleviate stress.
