Not exercise-induced asthma?

I am a 38 year old female runner and have been having trouble with increasing my miles as I usually begin doing in the Spring since I can run outdoors. After a few miles, I have trouble breathing especially when it is hot and humid outside. I also don't have the energy I had last year. Occasionally I have chest pains. I went to the doc who thought I might have EIA. The inhaler he gave me seemed to help, but when I went for the breathing test, they told me that there are no indications I have EIA. Often I have to clear my throat which helps a little at times. Is there something else it could be that is related to the hot humid weather? I don't know of any allergies I have, but I do have sinus issues. I have been able to run 7 miles but that was when it was cooler and the humidity was low. I am training for a half marathon so I would like to make sure I am alright to continue pushing myself. Thanks!
