Do you remember getting hurt in that area?
Is it a hard lump or a soft one?
A painful lump on the back of the head is most likely a sebaceous cyst which occur due to swollen haor follicles or blocked sebaceous glands. Other possibilities can be a lipoma (benign growth from the fatty tissue) or an enlarged occipital lymph node.
The treatment of sebaceous cyst is surgical incision and drainage. But first of all to make an exact diagnosis please schedule an appointment with a doctor.
Umm. It is a little soft but mostly hard.
I've told my mom about it and she won't let me go to the doctor. D:
Can anything bad happen if I don't go ?
The lump most likely is a benign one. Other than pain I don’t think it will cause much of a problem. You can take OTC pain killers and see if they make a difference in the size of the lump.
If the lump persists it is better to get it evaluated once just to know what exactly it is.
Take care!
