TIA or Complicated Migraine

by ELDERKIM, Jul 14, 2008 01:09PM
Im a 39 year old female that collasped at work a couple of months ago. I wokee up in the hospital not being able to speak or remember close relatives. After a mri was negattive for a stroke,  the doctors suggusted a lumbar puncher to rule out stroke. During the firs mri, they coulnt get any fluid and it took 45 min before they quit , an hour later the hread physicain did another one. During that lumbar puncher I felt my left leg lgo numb, like electrticity hit it.  An hr later I had a very bad spinal headache. I couldnt lift my head off the pillow without vomiting bo It felt  like my head would explode. It was then that I realized  I had weakness in on my left side and could not walk.  I was discharged from the hospital to a rehab/nursing home a week later with a diagnosis of complicated migraine. I have a history of migranes but did not have ones on the onset at all. In fact hadnt had one in months. I didnt have a headache until after the lumbar puncher. Now I have speech thearpy due to word finding/processing issues, I have ot and pt as well as a nurse. Everyone who sees me says that it looks ark a sTAI and that TIA's and complicated migraines look alike. What do you think? Right now my left legg feels like it has wight in it. My left erm is also weak. I dont have high blood pressure, however its been and falling  during this.
