is crystalens right for me

I am 36 years old and was diagnosed with cataracts when I was 10. My vision really wasn't that bad but the doctor thought it was a good time for me to get cataract surgery. I got a monofocal lens put in my left eye and I am very unhappy. My quality of vision is much worse than before. I have negative dysphotopsia and some positive dysphotopsia as well. There is a dark curved line to the left of my vision and vision past that is pretty much blind. I can't see as many colors as I could before and sunlight isn't even golden. It's more of a silvery light like an unnatural indoor light. In addition to that I don't have depth perception in that eye anymore and so things don't even appear alive. I didn't know that the fake lens didn't have the ability to focus at different levels like my natural eye does. The doctor didn't tell me this. Had I known I definately wouldn't have gotten it. I do have a cataract in the other eye but I will not be getting surgery in it.  Anyway, I need to get the lens removed and another put in but I want to make sure I make the right choice with the very best possible lens. I have read that a round silicone lens of at least 6mm will help with the dysphotopsia, but I was wondering if I could get something that might give me my depth perception back, like a crystalens. Maybe with the depth perception I'll even get some color back as well.

ALL the multifocal IOLs have much more dysphotopsia then monofocal IOL.  The WORST is reZoom and most physicians would not even consider putting one of these in their eye. The track record of 'Crystalens and ReStor IOL is better.

I would get a second opinion before jumping on the OR table.

I think the current version of Crystalens is 5mm. Some people on this board have described side effects with Crystalens which include glare, reflection, halos, and other issues. As far as the focus is concerned, yes it does focus at different distances, but there are posts from other patients about not being able to see well at all distances. Most all of us with Crystalens need reading glasses.
