What cause GI spasms?

- constipation
- starvation
- medications like iron supplements
- gallstones or other disorders of gallbladder and bilairy tract
- intestinal obstruction
- poisoning (lead...)
- urinary stones
- uterine contractions, ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis, adhesions in abdominal cavity
- investigations: colonoscopy, HIDA scan

Spasm are forced contractions of HOLLOW abdominal organs (gallbladder, biliary duct, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, urethers).
