non-specific signals mri

by lakeladybeth, Jul 15, 2008 11:21PM
For four months I have had distorted vision problems.  Sudden onset.  Started with left eye - then to right.  Symptoms are classic wet macular degeneration (wavy and distorted lines, central vision loss, etc).  Distortion is very pronounced in lines, distance street signs, etc.  Close up reading is not a problem.  I have been to a very well respected retina specialist and been through every test.  My retinas are "perfect" refraction tests, etc. are fine.  I just had an MRI of the orbital and frontal lobes.  Everything appeared to be fine.  The retina specialist told me the only thing stated was "non-specific signals in the frontal lobe".  Then he said "whatever the heck that means!"  He has suggested a "wait and see" philosophy.  Any ideas?  Thanks.
