I was tested Positive for Chlamydia How is that possible?

by day2400, Jul 16, 2008 01:26AM
I have been in a long term relationship for 8 years and have only been with my partner, i recently had my annual pap and was tested positive for Chlamydia, I asked my partner to also get check and he was negative how is this possible? Everything i read says its sexually transmitted, aside from my partner and toys thats all i do. What caused this to happen? I know he is faithful we live, work  and commute together i see him way to much,..;-) really i know his every move. So how did i get this?

You could have had a false positive.  If you haven't taken the meds already, then ask for a retest.

You should also ask if your chlamydia test was separate from your pap or if you had one of the new paps that includes it.  The new pap with chlamydia testing doesn't appear to be all that accurate for the chlamydia test.

If you've taken your meds, your partner should also be treated, just in case.

I did go back after speaking to my Dr on the phone, this time she did a urine test and it was negative, another lab work co payment =( now the biggest concern is the pain in my stomach, she had me do an ultrasound and more lab work but our concern is ovarian cancer. Unfortunately my family had a history in addition to me carrying a mutated gene how would a LMP tumor be treated?

I'm glad the chlamydia test was negative.

I have no idea about LMP tumors - perhaps try the cancer forum.
