Baby carriers

by Fourpaws, Jul 16, 2008 11:34AM
I have a snugli baby carrier. Lately a lot of women have been coming up to me (while wearing their slings & wraps) telling me that I have to get a wrap. They say they are very comfy and great for breastfeeding. Do any of you own one and which brand? There are so many to choose from. I like the fact that the slings have the extra fabric so when your breastfeeding, you can cover yourself. But, which ones are good? When I do reviews on them, it doesn't seem to be one great one. I don't want to spend the money on one I won't use.....Thanks!

that was the problem for me...  i didn't want to spend the money if i wasn't going to use it!
i bought an ellaroo wrap before my 15 month old dd was born.  i thought i was going to love it and i didn't!  it was soooo hard to get her in and out of it.  i recently sold it to a consignment shop!
right now i have a baby hawk carrier (babyhawk.com).  i really like it, but you can't really use it for breastfeeding though.  my 1 month old is very comfortable in it and i see it getting a lot of use!  :)
if you go to thebabywearer.com you can find reviews on all sorts of carriers.
i would find one you like and see if there is a merchant near you that sells it so you can see it and try it on in person.  that way you'll really know if you'll like it and use it.

I'm sorry I don't own one! I hope you find some reviews on it. You may want to post this in the Maternal and Child forum or one of the Pregnancy forums so that you can get more personal experiences.

I've always wanted a baby sling. Maybe next time around?

I would highly recommend the Moby wrap. It is so comfortable. A little tricky to learn to tie on, but once you learn it is super easy and fast. You can easily breastfeed in it and it works great for newborn up to toddler.
