lip lump

I have a small lump on the inside of my upper lip that comes and goes.
No pain and it does not stay. usually swells when I strain or bend over.
Any ideas?

I'm not sure about the straing or bending over part, but it may be what we call a mucocele.  Usually there's history of trauma to the lip (such as biting) that will damage the small salivary glands in there.  Sometimes it gets blocked or openned up so the saliva will spill into the tissue and form a bump/lump.

You should probably go see your dentist to verify.  They can remove it surgically or by just draining it with a needle.  He/she may refer you to an oral surgeon to get that done.

Oh, also, sometimes it will enlarge or shrink throughout the day because of the saliva pooling around.   Usually during meal or snack times cause you salivate more.
