results of biopsy

my daughter was just told the results of her colposcopy are back and she needs to go in so the doctor can talk with her about them and that she will need another procedure. she is frightened and we would like to know what kinds of things might she be concerned about. what are some of the problems she could be looking at. any help would be greatly appreciated.

her results are back but the doctor won't disclose them until he sees her at her next appt. i'm trying to find out what some of the things it could be. all she can think of is cancer she has to wait till friday. he has got her all upset and knowing some of the other things it could be that aren't so bad might help. she is 23 and hasn't had any medical problems besides a severe urinary tract infection when she was 6 from bubble bath.

there are a few things it could be.....some type of dysplasia minus high risk HPV or the HPV.....she should calm down regarding cerv cancer.......regular paps keeps a check on this!friday is only 2 days away!

thanks for your help it dysplasia. now she needs to have them burned off. any thoughts on that?

did they do a HPV test with the pap?HPV can cause dysplasia....they can do a cryosurgery or a LEEP procedure dependent on the size of the area affected...google LEEP procedure to learn more!

they tested for hpv and it was neg. doc said after the procedure i should be gone in about 2 years. i'll look into the LEEP procedure. is this something that could be hereditary?

i'm confused are you saying that she has to have hpv because she has dysplasia? this whole thing is confusing the doctor gave her a leaflet but it didn't explain a whole lot about her diagnosis just about hpv and he said she didn't have that. is dysplasia a result of hpv or is hpv a result of dysplasia?

no i am not saying that!she can have dysplasia minus HPV....and u said she is negative for HPV so that is good!HPV can cause dysplasia..it is the major cause of it but not all cases.dysplasia is a result of HPV.HPV is just HPV!
