Earach, pain on the roof of the mouth

by sue1403, Jul 16, 2008 03:50PM
This pain in my upper mouth came on when I was in the middle of a 4 day fast. It started in my left ear, and then went into my throat, kind of hoarse, then my thoroat reacted. I now have terrible pain that nothing seems to take away. The first day or so pain killers worked, then it got worse. The ridge around my mouth is swollen and the back of my throat. I went to the Dr. here and he blew me off. Told me it looked viral and good luck. Any ideas what this is?

This discussion is related to Swollen left side of hard palate - around the arch of mouth.

Oral manifestations of viral infection generally present vesicles and crusted 24 hours later. Antiviral agents are availavle. Seeing an ENT or oral pathologist is advised.
