A lump on the epididymis can be due to a spermatocele or a epididymal cyst.
A scrotal ultrasound can help identify the cause of the lump, but if it is identified as a cyst, there would be no cause for worry or intervention.
If the lump is asymptomatic now, but develops pain or signs of inflammation, it may be necessary to go on a course of antibiotics.
Surgical intervention need be considered only if there is actual discomfort arising from the lump.
Supportive measures include wearing close-fitting underwear, providing free flow out of semen during ejaculation, etc.
