my dogs eyeball has turned red

by elliemae12, Jul 16, 2008 08:31PM
hi i have a 12 year old cockapoo who has 1 eye that is actually turning red.  Not bloodshot.  I mean her actual eyeball is turned red inside especially when hit by light.   It is also slightly larger now than her other eye.   what is this and what am i to expect.   Ive noticed she does not have much vision in that eye as well.

Sound like she has bleeding in her eye. If the eye is enlarging, the pressure is building as well. Often hyphema is caused by an injury but that's not important right now. She should be seen by a vet.
