by RobynRex, Jul 16, 2008 11:03PM
I have been having severe pain in my left foot since april. They finally did an MRI and they said it shows that on my left foot and ankle that I have bone edema and 2 ganglion cyst and they are still not sure what is causing the pain. I am going to see and orthopedic surgeon on July 21st. They thought is was Rhemotoid arthritis but I was negative for that and the did  I think a CPK test a couple of days ago. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas one what might me a matter with my foot because I can barely walk on it and it also stiff in the mornings and sorta throughout the day. Thanks

Hello Dear,
Most ganglion cysts cause some degree of pain, usually following acute or repetitive trauma. The pain is usually nonstop, aching, and made worse by joint motion. When the cyst is connected to a tendon there may be  some weakness. Surgical removal of the cyst is needed when the mass is painful, interferes with function..Rheumatoid arthritis is usually bilateral and symmetrical involing both extremities.you should consult an orthopedic physician and rule out the other causes like gout and arthritis.
