i have a son, christian, who like you has been struggling too. i have tried soooooo many times to get him to join this forum, but he has yet to do so. i have seen many great success stories unravel right in front of my eyes. i have met wonderful, loving, and supportive ppl...your mom being one of them.
stick around...open your heart to recovery. share your thoughts and your feelings with ppl who either have gone through what you are going through or are in the beginning stages of recovery. either way...i think you'll find a piece of what you need on this forum.
welcome :)
You made a good move to join here.
I am going to send you a PM!
Huge Hugs

I'm really glad you joined. You can do this. There is so much info on here which I'm sure your mom will help you with. My best advice is to exercise as much as you can. it helps so much. I know its the last thing you want to do but try at least a walk everyday.
Good luck sweetie,
Melissa

Glad you made the decision to get clean for you and your lil' guy!
Some days it is really hard to keep moving ahead, but I promise you it does get better. I am almost 6 months and still have cravings...but my life feels out of balance right now.. ( I started work a few months ago...went from being a stay home mom for several yrs. to working 40 hrs./wk) .and that is one of my triggers....lack of balance!!!
Learning your triggers are and how to deal w/ them...is the biggest part of the battle.
Getting clean is the easy part ....staying clean is the hard part.
Aftercare is important...like AA or NA mtgs.....i prefer the AA mtgs. I am also a recovering alcoholic. I have found these mtgs. to be beneficial in teaching me how to live life on lifes terms.
I have also made some great friends in AA. Last night 5 of us went to an art fair and listened to a band that was giving a mini concert...then we came back to my house and had an AA mtg. ( We skipped our womens mtg that we usually go to and had our own later.) :D It helps to have people who are clean and sober to do things with.
Wishing you the best of luck...
DIG DEEP and FIND the STRENGTH..... YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!
If you ever want to talk...feel freee to PM me.....I won't share anything w/ your mom...lol...HI Cathy!!!
