WEIRD ACNE---NO INFORMATION FROM MD'S

by alishugabooga, Jul 17, 2008 05:36AM
I have suffered from acne my whole life----but a year ago I burned my face. I boiled hot water and placed my face over the steam, a little too close, Immediately after, I put nair on my face to remove facial hair. The chemicals and high steam temperature caused me to suffer a 2nd degree burn. It took about 6 months for the burns stop being gooey and i wore neosporin scar solution patches religiously. I now have these large areas of 2-3 cm wide dark spots, which are basically built up impurities. I can't explain it, but it's not puss or pimples. It's actually white sort of stringy puss that I can actually pull out of each pore (they are so deeply embedded that if I pull to hard, or squeeze the tweezer to hard, it cuts the puss and it retracts deeper into the poore. I've been to a dermatologist who was clueless and prescribed some cortozone product. I'm using Maderma, but i know that this stuff is in the pores and I don't know what kind of acne is this and how to get rid? ANY HELP?A

Hi. Hydrocortizone cream is useful for irritations, allergic reactions and redness. However, it can cause acne or make existing acne worse.
I recommend you re-post this in the dermatology forum as I only specialise in acneic skin and am not an expert on burns.
I would like to remind readers never to use hot water or soap immediately prior to, or following use of a hair removal product. Follow the instructions exactly including carrying out a small patch test to check for reactions. Do not apply any astringent product to the treated area for 48 hours.
