Chronic cold and sinus problems

by titansman, Jul 17, 2008 08:32AM
Hello. I'm a healthy 47 year old male with moderate high blood pressure and cholesterol which are well controlled with medication. I have been having of late a chronic issue with nasal congestion, low grade fever, and headaches which never seems to go away completely. I'll have an attack of sorts, will basically be useless and can just barely make it through work, will come home and sleep, and then will feel better within 2-3 days. I'll feel better for a couple of weeks and then the cycle starts over again. This has been going on for around four months. I haven't visited my PCP during this time. I recently moved into a new apartment after living for two months in a hotel room. I have been under stress both on and off the job, and feel like my resistance may be down, as I normally feel pretty good most of the time. Just seems to be lingering, as even the girl at the pharmacy remarked that I'm constantly buying cold, sinus, and allergy medicine OTC. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have been experiencing a similar problem...constant colds, sinus infections and/or sore throats...for about the past 5 months. It's beginning to make me worry and I will probably try to see my regular doc or ENT next week if possible. I'm just afraid they'll brush it off. Sorry, I dont' have any suggestions.
