blood in my urine

for the last year, there has been visible blood in my urine,(on and off). at times my urine looks like prune juice. dark and nearly black. while i am bleeding, i do feel some pain in my lower abdomin, but nothing too severe. I know that i have a kidney stone, but the urologist feels that that is not causing the bleeding, the stone is small and smooth, and sitting comfortably in my kidney. my urine tests, have shown an elevated level of protein in the last year as well, they tested my urine for kidney function and it came back fine. i have had several catscans, and they have shown nothing. they even looked in my lower urinary tract, and found nothing unusual. i have tested negative for infection, with every urine test. my docter seems puzzeled. he is talking about sending me to see someone else. do you have any advise for me and my doctor?
