Painful joints when undergoing oxygen treatments

by btsmith, Jul 17, 2008 10:23AM
I have a chronic lung problem that we think was caused by living in a pulpmill town, with wigwam burners during the 50's.   I noticed that when I have been in the hospital and treated with oxygen (saturation) my breathing gets better for about 12 hours.   However my veins, especially around my joints, hurts similar to the pain caused by the bends.  Has anybody ever heard of such a thing.  It has happened 3 times and my primary care physician is at a loss too.  If I could take oxygen treatments it would help alot.  The pain starts at the ends of my fingers and toes and then works toward the body.  (it is really painful)   Any hints???
