How to take Progesterone Suppository.....HELP

by Hope4best, Jul 17, 2008 11:03AM
Hello all - I am pregnant with my 2nd IVF and have been taking progesterone injections but my doctor asked me to switch over to progesterone suppository.  Has anyone taken this?  If so, are there specific instruction to insert them?  How long do you need to lay on bed?  Also, is it normal if things come out when going to the bathroom?  I know very little about this so any help is appreciated.  Thank you!

I was just told insert them as far as you could.  They didnt mention anything about laying down and that there would be some leakage or discharge from them.  I have been taking them 3x a day since 06/19 along with the progesterone injections.

You need to take it sitting or lying down.  Once it's in your fine to get up and move around.  A small amount will probably remain in the tube, don't worry you'll still get the right dose.  Expect to have a small amount of grainy discharge once it starts to accumulate.
