Thyroid Question

About a year and a half ago my doctor prescribed lexyol for my thyroid. She also had me on testrostrome cream and DHEA. I was feeling like a new women. Then after taking the meds for about a year my throat started swelling really bad. I have been to several doctors, had a ultra sound. The ultra sound showed small goiters. The other doctors told me that it was acid reflux. Everytime I take idodine or the thyroid medicene my throat swells. I think I have some acid reflux but it is too big a concidence that it only started after taking the medicene.
I just got my blood work back, I have been waiting for my doctor to call. She talked of having my thyroid removed before the blood work. My T4 free is 1.1, T-3, free is 292 I would really like a second opionion about getting my thyroid removed.

Were you on iodine therapy to shrink the goiters or something?
My doctor gave me iodine and then my throat really started swelling. My throat is swollen tonight with a headache. My daughter asked what I have eaten, the last two days at lunch I had a hot dog. She thought that maybe it was too high in salt causing the swelling.
I took these mega vitamins and my throat started swelling, after looking it had 1500mg of iodine.
I hope you are getting a meds increase. You want it between 0.5 and 2.0.
My neck feels thick and shirts and seatbelts bother it when my TSH up. Last fall my TSH went to 6 and I couldn't have anything touch my throat. Once my levels dropped, I was back to wearing even turtlenecks. My TSH just went back up to 5.1 and my neck feels the same way again. (Only it is too hot to wear a turtleneck! lol)
