concerned about hiv results

I am concerned because I had sex with a person that may have put me at risk for contracting hiv. I had sex in September of 2007 with this person. I was just tested for hiv in June of 2008, approximately nine months after possible exposure, and the results came back negative. I know that there is a window of 3 to 6 months, but sometimes it can be positive after a year of exposure. I have recently been experiencing symptoms exhibiting hiv which include: swollenness (I think lymph nodes) in the back of my knees, mouth ulcers, aching joints, and light headaches.
I know it isn't likely to get a false negative, but is it possible to show symptoms before a test comes back positive? Basically, what are my chances of having hiv because I am really nervous about the possibility of having hiv.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

the only way it's gonna be positive after a year is if you wait a year to test. 3 months IS conclusive. you do not have hiv :)
