Worried Wife

by sue305, Jul 17, 2008 06:17PM
My husband suffers from multiple symptoms: High blood pressure which can suddlenly drop very low (he has been diagnosed with neuroncardiogenic syncopy), extreme sensitvity  in hands and feet to cold (he cannot stand a/c to be anything below 80 degrees) along with painin extremities, the doctor diagnosed as CIDP, dizziness, loss of balance, he has "spells" where is unresponsive for anywhere from 5 minutes to 4 hours (nothing makes him respond even the knuckle rub on his sternum) these will occur suddenly with no real warning, confusion, depression and anxiety disorder. Although he says he has had the blackout spells for most of his life they became increasingly severe over the last 5 years. He also became unable to work after spending 30 years working a physically demanding job.
He is 53 years old but walks with a cane and is physically unable to be up and around for any extended period of time.
The doctors have run so many CAT scans, MRI's and blood tests with no real answers. There were what they described as some "white spots" on his brain but they have rechecked and said they have not changed so they don't believe that it is anything. We spent some time at Mayo at the onset of his symptoms but were unable to afford to go back, even though they wanted us to.
He currently is on: Lyrica, Zoloft,Clonazapaem, Trazadone, Singular, Toprol, Crestor, Hydoco/apap, Cymbalta, Felodipine, Azmacort,Chlord/climi and Naproxen. I think this is WAY too much medicine, but he believes that the doctors have ordered it and he needs it.
Do you have any thoughts on where we can go from here? He seems to be getting worse instead of better. Thank you!!
