If you can conclusively correlate the onset of symptoms to the usage of the body wash, it would be best to discontinue use of the said product, at least around the groin and penis region.
Smegma is a normal secretion produced by the glands under the penis. Regular cleaning by retracting the foreskin will keep the area clean and prevent collection of smegma.
Any inflammation caused as a result of irritation will settle down after withdrawal of the irritant product.
Keeping the area moisturized with natural emollients, such as olive or coconut oil, for about a week can help with resolution of the lesion.
