why is my cat's nipple HUGE???

by 3fatcats, Jul 17, 2008 10:29PM
Just one of her nipples, the one way up almost on her back, behind her front leg, is way larger than the others.  ie.  10 times as large..approx 1/4 inch by 1/5 inch. she is a spayed female, 14 years old.  otherwise she seems healthy

Mammary neoplasia  (or cancer) is still possible if a cat or dog is not spayed before the first heat cycle.
Your veterinarian will be able to tell if it is truly a nipple or another skin mass or even a hair mat.
Feline mammary neoplasia can can be treated surgically but time is of the essence.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, I will have her checked by the local vet.  It is definately not a hair mat, as it is nipple shaped, just large.  And in checking again, it is closer to her armpit than I remembered.

Thanks again.
