Do you have any other signs and symptoms? An oral mucocele is a swelling of connective tissue usually caused by local trauma. Most mucoceles do not hurt. The most common location to find a mucocele is the surface of the lower lip and is more commonly found in children and young adults. Some mucoceles spontaneously resolve on their own after a short time while others are chronic and require surgical removal. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mucocele)
