Chickenpox scar removal??

by janethegreat, Jul 18, 2008 05:41AM
I have had two small round indentations on my right cheek since I was a kid. My parents tell me they're from having chicken pox as a baby, and I scratched off two of the bumps. I have become increasingly embarrassed of the marks with age, because they seem to stand out more and people have made comments/asked questions. My mom thinks it would take some sort of "skin graphing" to get rid of these superficial craters, which might cost a lot of money. I think if a doctor could somehow 'sand' down the surrounding edges of the marks, they would be hardly noticeable. I'm curious...what are my options and price range?

There are multiple alternative treatments to the depressed cheek scar ranging from surgical excising to dermabrasion to fillers (skin grafting is not a likely alternative).  A plastic surgeon can give you an opinion of the treatment options and the costs involved.
