Diahrrea and nausia for 6 months- Help!

by debralea, Jul 18, 2008 11:28AM
I have no idea what is wrong, but I have had diahrrea for more than 6 months, probably 5 days a week, 3 times a day. the other two I will either be constipated or have normal bowel movements. I have developed hemmeroids and get small ammounts of blood in my stool, as well as coffee ground like speckals (maybe once a week) and yellow mucus (1/2 the time). I have lost most interest in food, and now that I mostly eat liquids I don't vomit as much. I often feel like I am going to vomit when I put food in my mouth, I have basically been reduced to a protein shake and string cheese in the day, and a small dinner. And it is strange to me that even with my reduced intake, my weight has not fluctuated. I know it sounds insane to have waited so long, but I have no insurance and realy can't afford to go to the Dr. I came back from Fiji 8 months ago, and I did drink the dirty water, so that may be the cause. Also, I drink almost daily, usually a beer or two, sometimes hard liquor on weekends. I have heard that could cause similar problems, and my driking last summer was fairly heavy. I get a lot of stomache and back pains and nausia. Does this sound like IBS? Is there a diet I should try? Should I do a detox tea or juice diet to get whatever is making me sick go away? Or do I just plain need to see a Dr?
