Prostatitis

Hello Doctor.

I have a question.

The only way to check a nonbacterial prostatitis is by the cytoscopy or is there another way to check that.

Thanks for your help.

Non-bacterial prostatitis is a diagnosis of exclusion. If you truly have symptoms consistent with prostatitis and no evidence of infection,  then the diagnosis can be made.

You can't be sure if you have bacterial or nonbacterial type of prostatitis. It is very difficult to culture bacterias from prostate. Even if you have negative tests results you still can have bacterias. They can be hidden in calcifications or in blocked ducts in prostate.
