Bad smelling urine

by Jo85, Jul 18, 2008 05:52PM
My mother has had very bad smelling urine for about 12 months now, its smells like really bad eggs. She went to her GP who did a urine sample and said there was no infection present. The GP didnt investigate any further. What could this be, it is very distressing for her and really quite embarrassing as even after she has flushed the smell lingers for a while after.

This may be related to diet. The "bad egg" smell is usually related to sulphur compounds, and your mom might want to look at her diet and also vitamins and supplements which can cause this type of odor.
