A semi healed finger fracture

Hi,
My husband fractured his little finger overseas more than 10 days ago. The doctor there put the finger in a cast and now back in the US, I took him to an orthopedic doctor. After looking at a fresh X-ray, he said that the bone is not aligned well, and has started to heal in this position. After a meeting with his colleague(this was kaiser, california) the physician said that we should just let it heal the way it is.
I am concerned that this will lead to a permanent defect. I would like to get a second opinion, but am not sure who to take him to. We have additional insurance, so second opinion is not a problem.
Any advice?
