What are the possibilities?

by Sassy908, Jul 18, 2008 07:37PM
I recently went to the Dr. with a severe tongue problem.  Diagnosis was oral thrush.  As I am 55 yrs old he suggested that I may have an autoimmune disorder, such as hepatitis.  I had blood tests for a variety of things, including Lymes disease.  I have been having bloating of my stomach and pain for almost a year.  The thrush has been present for 2 weeks or so.  Could the two be related?  He is having me get an endoscopy and says if the thrush is not gone after treatment (Nystatin) and appears in my stomach or intestines after the endoscopy that I probably have an autoimmune disorder.  Anyone else ever had this?

Anything is possible.  Usually oral thrush comes from taking to much in the forms from taking antibiotics to having a lower resistance to end up picking up all kinds of crud from handles on shopping carts to shaking hands,.  There is also a theory that  yeast is a very common and un recognized problem in American women.  When your immune system is supressed a lot of things that we normally wouldn't get  are able to move in.  .

Well, I am heading back to bed..  Hope you start feeling better,
