Glucose levels down after eating

by praveen4mom, Jul 19, 2008 01:21AM
Hi All,

I am a healthy male, 24 yrs old, 10 kgs overweight. I recently underwent blood tests that read as follows:

Plasma Glucose(Fasting) - 95
Plasma Glusoce(P.P)      - 80 ( This is after eating) I dont beleive this at all. Is this due to stress or something??

Cholestrol - 160
HDL - 43
LDL - 138
Cholestrol/HDL - 3.72

My doctor said I will get diabetes for sure since my father has it(at 52 yrs, he was diagnosed as diabetic. Now after diet n exercise, he is healthy at 58).

Also, my cholestrol levels..What do these numbers mean? My doctor said just reduce your weight and everything else would be fine..

Do I have to stop taking milk at all? that s the only fat i take now. I have stopped eating eggs, chicken, oily foods etc. I eat oats for breakfast, rice with pulses for lunch n light food for dinner.I have started **** 1 hr of walking everyday now to reduce weight.

I m travelling abroad for my higher education and all these things worry a lot..Please suggest me my next steps.
