24 hour cortisol urine test results

Hi, my son had a 24 hour free cortisol test run.  The doctor said the results are normal but I am confused by them.  The cortisol numbers are obviously normal as they fall within the reference ranges.  But for the 24 hour Creatinine, Urine test his level was 385 mg/24hr and I believe it says the reference range is 800-2000.  Then it says the Creatinine, Urine level is 77 mg/dL.    There numbers appear to be much lower than the reference range but the lab didn't flag it as a concern.  Since he was a baby, he is now 6, that level has always been off incuding the BUN ratio.  From what I have read it has to do with kindney function and he does not urinate like everyone else.  For example, he usually urinates about 2-3 times per day on a good day.

Let your physician interpret this test, the reason that creatinine is done on this test is to assess appropriate collection in order to be sure enough urine was done and also concentrated, the normals are not always age adjusted, talk with your doc, if they have any concerns about renal disease this is the area of another kind of expert and they can easily talk with them. I am glad to hear that 24 hr urine for free cortisol was normal, at times we repeat the test for a total of 3 times if indeed we are concerned about Cushing's Disease
