Juvederm and blue discoloration

by reba69, Jul 19, 2008 07:13PM
Hello...... I had Juvederm injected under my eyes this past October. It left me with terrible blue marks under my eyes where the injections were. It is now July and the blue is still present. When can I expect for it to go away and what can I do to reverse it?
Respectfully,
Reba

Juvederm itself does not produce dark circles (it is a filler consisting of a natural sugar that is typically absorbed in four to six months or more).  The dark areas may potentially be related to bruising caused by the injection technique.  At more than eight months following the injection, you may have iron pigment staining of the tissues from a bruise (hemoglobin contains iron).  I would suggest seeing a dermatologist to discuss the use of bleaching creams.
