What should my child eat to gain weight ?

by RebeccaBabie, Jul 19, 2008 09:26PM
My child is 13 yrs. old. She weighs 67 Pounds. Kids at her school are always making fun of her and calling her a stick. She's not that skinny but she complains she is. She has meat. But not enough. She eats alot. She would like to gain enough weight before school start back. What should i do ? She wears size 00 in teens. I'm very happy that she jus not weigh sizes in kids.

Her weight is below the 5th percentile for her age. Have her eat 3 meals a day and snacks between meals. Suggest 1-2 milkshakes (milk, frozen fruit, and ice cream) or yogurt smoothies (yogurt, frozen fruit, and milk) a day which will give her extra calories / protein to gain weight. She is coming of age where she will be gaining body fat for her menstruation.
