What cured my IBS

by charlie57, Jul 19, 2008 09:56PM
I was the poster child IBS if there ever was one. I feared eating around people because I knew where I was heading in a short time. I drank 6 to 10 cokes a day, hardly any water. Then I found out I had Barrets oesophagus I was told that can lead to cancer and the cokes were bad. I never drank a coke again. It has been about 2 years. I replaced coke with water. I can now go out to eat and not worry about being able to make it home. Don't get me wrong if I eat certain items I'll still have to run to the bathroom but I pretty much know that before I take my first bit.
Another item the helped was Benefiber. I remember when a Doctor suggested I try them to help with my IBS. I said Doc fiber is not my problem, I need no help there. But he told me it helps balance your system and that did help.
I hope this advice has helped someone.

when u say cured as in your title does this mean u no longer suffer from ibs or was it just barrets oesophagus all along which was causing the symptoms.

6-10 cokes a day a lot of sugar for the body to process and imagine the stress on the pancreas which is the main producer of digestive enzymes which when in short supply will lead to symptoms of ibs

just a thought
gald u feeling good and long may it be so
take care
