Sex while membranes are bulging

I am 39 weeks on Tuesday, I am 3cm dilated and my membranes are bulging. I would like to have sex with my husband, but the problem is.. I want my obgyn.. who is gone for the weekend.. is it an old wives tale that sex with bring on labor... if so I dont want to have sex and be stuck with the jerk of the on call obgyn.. I want mine. Just want to know if it is safe to have sex, or is it too risky and might put me in labor.

If you are trying to hold off then do not have sex. The semen will help put you into labor, this wives tale is true. Of course it sounds like you could go into labor before you read the end of this post.....good luck to you! I know how hard it is to get stuck with someone on call that you do not want. I guess wait until the week end is over then wear your hubby out...lol! 4-6 weeks is a looooong time!
